- Learners will attend the training via Zoom and must receive the Zoom links to join from the group managers before the training starts.
- Learners complete the online attendance register on the day of training (first thing in the morning).
- ASC enrols the learners for the test at 10:30 (morning sessions) and 15:30 (afternoon sessions)
- Learners do the test at 11:15 (morning sessions) and 16:15 (afternoon sessions)
- Learners mark the course as complete and leave a review (feedback).
- Learners have access to their certificates.
- ASC allocates the learners to the relevant groups.
- Group managers can use the online portal to view learners’ progress and access their certificates. Please note that ASC needs 24 to 48 hours to allocate the learners to the relevant groups.
Section A: Pre-training Registration
To ensure students do not experience any unnecessary technical issues on the day of training, we request that all delegates register as students on our online training platform well before the training date.
Registration Steps and Important Information
STEP 1: Registration Link
Here is the link where delegates can register as students: https://ascfoodsafetytraining.com/student-registration/?redirect_to=https://ascfoodsafetytraining.com/dashboard/
Please read the instructions below the image carefully before registering as a student!
Example of a complete student registration page:

Instructions for “First Name” & “Last Name”
The names entered during registration go directly onto the certificate. To make sure the certificate displays correctly and professionally, please follow these guidelines:
- Full Names and Surname: Use the full names and surname exactly as they appear on the student’s ID document.
- Watch the spelling: Double-check for typing errors.
- Use Proper Capitalisation: Names should start with a capital letter followed by lowercase (e.g., James Solomon Smith).
Instructions for “Username”
The username is displayed publicly. Please DO NOT use contact numbers, passwords, IDs, or email addresses as a username.
Our recommendation: Use your first name followed by the first letter of your surname, for example, janes.
Instructions for “E-mail”
Our system uses email addresses to identify students, so sharing isn’t an option.
- Unique addresses only: Every student must use their own dedicated email. The system won’t allow two people to use the same one.
- Immediate access: Make sure the email is spelt correctly, is working properly, and the student can log in right away on the day of training.
Instructions for “Password”
It’s important to keep your student accounts secure.
- Be careful about what you use as a password: DO NOT use a phone number or ID number.
- Don’t reuse: Create a unique password you don’t use anywhere else (don’t use passwords you use for work, banking, or personal apps).
STEP 2: Access to the Student Learner Dashboard
- Learner Dashboard: After registration, the student will be directed to the Learner Dashboard. The course will not be displayed yet. Students are enrolled only for the course and the test on the day of training.
- Bookmark and Remember Password: Students must bookmark this page on their devices and remember their passwords to avoid delays on the day of training.

NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED ON THE LEARNER DASHBOARD AT THIS POINT
STEP 3: Sharing the Zoom Link and Instructor-led Training via Zoom
Kindly note that the training is instructor-led via Zoom on the day of training. Access to the online training platform’s Learner Dashboard is only required to do the test.
IMPORTANT: LEARNERS WILL NOT JOIN THE TRAINING VIA THE ONLINE TRAINING PLATFORM, BUT VIA THE ZOOM LINK.
Kindly note that learners should receive their Zoom Link for the training from the Group managers before the training starts, and join the training via the Zoom link on the day of training.
If you experience any issues with this registration process, please notify us via WhatsApp before the training date.

STEP 4: Read the Rest of the Instructions
Please read the information below to ensure you understand the remaining training requirements.
Section B: day of training
The training is only four hours, and it is important that students attend the training on time in a distraction-free environment where they can clearly hear and see the facilitator.
Below are a few important notes for students and group managers.
Training Time Slots
The training time slots are as follows:
- Morning Sessions: 08:00 – 12:00
- Afternoon Sessions: 13:00 – 17:00
IMPORTANT! Students must join the training session 15 minutes before it starts.
Zoom Link for the Training
The Zoom link for the training is shared with the Group Managers a few days before the training date. The Group Managers will share the Zoom Link with the relevant students.
Other Important Information
- Has the learner registered as a student on the ASC online training platform? If no, refer to Section A above.
- Access to a stable internet connection is vital for a good learning experience.
- One device (computer or mobile phone) per student is recommended to take the test. Sharing devices during tests causes delays and is not recommended.
- Ensure the student’s device is set up and updated for Teams before the training date.
- A distraction-free environment where the student can clearly hear and see the facilitator.
- Students are not allowed to attend training while performing work duties.
Conditions for Students Who Attend Multiple 4-Hour Training Sessions
It is important to note that if a student attends a 4-hour training session multiple times, the relevant department/group will be invoiced accordingly.
Re-assessment Sessions: It is recommended that students who attended a training session and failed their test attend the 2-hour RE-ASSESSMENT session instead. Re-assessment sessions will be arranged by ASC with the relevant contact person.
What happens when a student fails the re-assessment test as well? The student will then be required to attend the full 4-hour session again.
It also sometimes happens that a student attends a training session but does not complete the test, then joins another session to take the test. This is discouraged due to additional training fees. The student is advised to rather contact our support team for assistance.
Completion of the Attendance Register
All students are required to complete the online attendance register on the day of training. The completed attendance register is needed to record the student’s attendance and register the student for the test.
If the student does not complete the attendance register, ASC will not be able to enrol them for the test, and they will be deemed absent from the training.
The facilitator will share the link to the attendance register on the day of training.
Deadlines for the completion of the attendance register:
- Morning sessions: The attendance register must be completed before 09:00
- Afternoon sessions: The attendance register must be completed before 13:00
Example of the online attendance register:

STUDENTS DO NOT NEED A GOOGLE ACCOUNT OR SIGN IN TO THEIR GOOGLE ACCOUNT TO COMPLETE THE FORM. THEY CAN JUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR STUDENTS: Please ensure your email address is correct. You will receive an automated email with a copy of the register immediately after submission. If you don’t, it may mean you did not provide the correct email address.
Student Enrolment for the Test
ASC will enrol students for the test who are listed on the Attendance register at 10:30 (for the morning session) and 15:30 (for the afternoon session).
Any students who did not submit the attendance register by those times will only be enrolled at a later stage, but as soon as possible. This is to ensure there is no delay for the entire classroom.
Section C: Tests, certificates and support
Students should ideally take the test on the day of training, but may submit it within 24 hours of training if their internet connection is unstable or they are in a hurry.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE TEST:
- 20 Questions with a time limit of 25 minutes. The test will automatically submit if the time runs out and you have not submitted it.
- Once you start the quiz, you must complete it.
- The questions are either worth 1 or 2 marks. You must select all the correct options to earn the mark for a question. For example, if a question is worth 2 marks and you only get it partially correct, you will lose the full 2 marks. The number of marks is UNRELATED to the number of correct options.
- You can take the test at any time within the next 24 hours after the facilitator instructed you to start. Only start the test when you have a stable internet connection and enough time to complete it. Do not rush.
- You get 2 attempts to pass the test. If you fail the first attempt, please review your answers to better prepare for the 2nd attempt. Keep in mind the questions are randomised and different for each attempt.
- If you fail both attempts, we will need to arrange a reassessment session with your group manager and/or Tracy from YUM at an additional cost to your branch.
