Gate Review Scorecard
Score a project at a gate the way lesson 1.3 teaches. Must-meets are met, open or failed, each with evidence, a date and an owner. Should-meets are weighted and scored 1 to 5. Write your own decision first, then see the tool’s decision, the working and the rule that gave it. Practice only. Nothing you type here is sent to ASC, and your draft is kept on this device.
This scorecard is the gate step, Module 1, of Intermediate Food Product Development (NPD), a 16 hour online course, R3 950. Directors who chair the gate have their own course, Food Product Development (NPD) for Management, 4 hours, R1 495.
Pass or fail conditions the project cannot proceed without, such as a legal requirement, a safety approval or a customer condition. Met needs evidence with a reference and a date. Open needs an owner (a role), the evidence that would close it and a due date. No score makes up for an open or failed must-meet.
Criteria that matter by degree. The weights add up to 100. Score each from 1 to 5 against anchors written before anyone scores, and score risk so that 5 means low risk.
Tick a kill criterion only if it has been hit. With none ticked, the tool treats a failing score or a failed must-meet as something the stage’s own work can fix.
Pick the decision you would take to the chair before the tool shows its own. Your weighted score is optional.
